60 MILLION: A TRAGIC NUMBER.
Welcome to my first post on The Jewish Life League, where insightful news, commentary and analysis on the abortion issue will be discussed from the pro-life viewpoint of traditional Judaism.
We will go behind the scenes and update our website as much as possible, and keep the site current.
Since 1973, when the infamous Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion in all 50 states, nearly 60 million unborn children have been murdered, primarily for choice and inconvenience. The number is astonishing. As of this writing, 60 million babies are lost. We have aborted an entire generation of children. Currently, we are at a birth level that is barely at replacement levels. If this trend continues, our culture and country as we know it will inevitably decline.
Pro-abortion groups, including a number of radical Jewish organizations, have aligned with the media and Planned Parenthood to distort the truth about what is happening in the abortion industry. The National Abortion Federation, NARAL and the ACLU are among the many groups that have lobbied Congress and have promoted legislation and policies mandating abortion for all nine months of pregnancy. Doe v. Bolton, the companion decision to Roe v. Wade, included a bogus "health" exception which permits abortion for all three trimesters, for reasons including a woman's age and familial concerns. The more active and prominent activist Jewish groups include The National Council for Jewish Women, Hadassah and the Reform Action Council.
The Jewish Life League maintains that all life is sacred, from conception to birth. The Torah and Talmudic texts support the pro-life viewpoint, with the one exception to save the mother's life. Judaism does not warrant abortion unless the pregnant woman's life is at risk.
We will eventually add content to our Facebook page, which is currently under development.
