Cecile Richards has left Planned Parenthood, but her legacy of death remains.
Frequent reports emerge online documenting unsafe Planned Parenthood businesses that do not comply with health code regulations, and fail inspections. Birmingham Alabama Planned Parenthood has been cited for using unsterilized instruments, and as Operation Rescue reports is operating a substandard practice with numerous violations.
Abby Johnson, who was Director of a Planned Parenthood facility in Texas, describes how Planned Parenthood maintains an abortion quota and each facility is required to perform a specific number of abortions every month – and that it is in their budget. This is one of the reasons Ms. Johnson left – because she was told to double the number of abortions her abortion facility would perform every month.
In an interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, Ms. Johnson further stated that Planned Parenthood provides no pre-natal care and has not one licensed mammography machine in any facility. What this means is that Planned Parenthood is promoting a lie that they are providing valuable health care to women and deceiving the public about their services, so they may continue to receive government funding to the tune of half a billion dollars per year, paid for by taxpayers.
I remember back in 2003, the heartbreaking news story of an 18-year old girl named Holly Patterson, whose death resulted from a deadly mix of two abortion inducing drugs, mifepristone (Mifeprex, or RU-486) and misoprostol. These two drugs are taken together and are required for early abortions to be completed. In Holly’s case, she was not given thorough or accurate medical information about the drugs she was taking, and her parents had no idea she was having an abortion. She died of a massive infection and septic shock. Holly received the drugs at Planned Parenthood Golden Gate in San Francisco.
Monty L. Patterson maintains a website in memory of his daughter providing the truth about RU-486 and the potential for serious life-threatening risks. And other women have died from Mifeprex.
Despite revised labeling use from the FDA, Mifeprex poses serious health to women, because there are still no serious efforts to enforce federal oversight for abortionists who dispense these drugs. Cheryl Sullenger writes in Life News: “Operation Rescue has reviewed 127 “Report of RU486 Event” forms for five abortion facilities located in three counties in Ohio for abortions that took place during a five-year time-span, 2012-2016.”
Of the five abortion businesses reporting complications, three are Planned Parenthood facilities.
Too often women become victims of unsafe abortions in Planned Parenthood clinics. Yet, the billion-dollar abortion business remains in operation. Except for pro-life organizations that report abortion news daily, the mainstream media does not report the facts, and serious repeat injuries are not widely publicized. For example, in 2017 there were eight individual incidents involving the Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood facility in New York City. Eight women were transported to the hospital from that facility after suffering injuries from botched abortions. There were a total of 57 abortion medical emergencies in 2017, and 35 of these occurred at a Planned Parenthood business. One young woman, Cree Erwin-Sheppard died on July 3rd, 2016 after her uterus was perforated at a Planned Parenthood abortuary in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The abortionist at this mill, Laura Castleman was suspected of being involved in other abortion injuries.
The crucial evidence contained in Cree’s death certificate has been redacted. The death certificate can be found on Operation Rescue, and Cree’s case is fully documented.
There was Edrica Goode, who in 2007 died at Planned Parenthood Riverside following a second trimester abortion because the seaweed laminaria used as dilators that were supposed to prep her for the procedure caused a severe infection that spread throughout her body, killing her.
At age 24, Tonya Reaves became another Planned Parenthood statistic. In July 2012, the young woman bled to death following a botched late term D & E abortion at Loop Center Planned Parenthood. This case is especially egregious because Planned Parenthood was sued and forced to pay a $2 million settlement to Tonya’s family in the “wrongful death” suit. However, Tonya’s son was only one year old at the time, and will not turn 18 until 2029. That is when he will receive the settlement. Compounding the tragic death of Tonya and the killing of her unborn child, this is a outrageous travesty of justice.
The tragedies continue, and not only at Planned Parenthood. There is currently a malpractice trial underway surrounding the notorious 80-year-old abortionist Warren Hern at his abortion mill in Boulder Colorado. Hern was found guilty of botching a late term abortion so badly he left half the unborn baby’s skull in the mother’s womb. The victim, Jennifer DeBuhr, was 25 weeks pregnant and wanted this baby, but opted to have the abortion after undergoing an MRI that showed her unborn baby had brain abnormalities that would reduce the child’s lifespan. As a result of the botched abortion, Jennifer had to undergo a hysterectomy leaving her sterile, a traumatic life-altering operation leaving her emotionally distraught. The details of her case is thoroughly documented at the Live Action website.
Warren Hern specializes in late term abortions and has been committing these gruesome dismemberment abortions for decades. In Jennifer’s case he performed an ultrasound following the D & E abortion and failed to see that the abortion was incomplete.
Had the Senate Democrats passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, these horrible abortions would be banned after 20 weeks. Babies would be saved, and women would be spared the horrible outcome Jennifer DeBuhr endured.
The horrible murders of babies continue. It isn’t enough to ban late term abortions. All human life should be protected. It is time to reverse Roe v. Wade, which ushered in our culture of death.
